This inaugural episode lays the first cornerstone upon which the remainder of the podcast will be built! In this episode I cover scripturally the basis for declaring that God's Word is a Refining Fire!
The Furnace of Affliction
It is so easy to get confused when we find ourselves in the midst of the furnace of affliction unexpectedly! We think we are doing well when suddenly, out of no where, we are thrust into red hot fire of The Refiner! The automatic question is WHY? The proper question is WHAT!? After 400 years of slavery in Egypt, Israel had a lot of Why questions but didn't grasp the What questions. The What questions seek the Purpose of the Affliction, the battle, rather than just Whyning. Israel entered Egypt with a feeble mom and dad, 11 sons and their families. They left Egypt 400 years later, stronger in body and in numbers. Some 2 Million Israelites walked on dry ground across the Red Sea. They were in the furnace of affliction those 400 years because God was building up for himself a people capable of entering and possessing the Promised Land! If you find yourself in the Furnace of Affliction, begin immediately to ask the what questions to figure out God's purpose in your time of testing!
